THE NORTH-WEST FRONTIER PROVINCE AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1987.

ACT
further to amend the North-West Frontier Province, Agricultural University Ordinance, 1981.

Preamble

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the North-West Frontier Province Agricultural University Ordinance, 1981 (N.-W. F. P. Ord. I of 1981), for the purpose hereinafter appearing;

It is hereby enacted as follows:—

Short title and commencement

1.         (1) This Act may be called the North-West Frontier Province Agricultural University (Amendment) Act, 1987.

 (2) It shall come into force at once.

Amendment of section 2 of N W F P Ord I of 1981

2.         In the North-West Frontier Province Agricultural University Ordinance, 1981 (N.-W. F. P. Ord. I of 1981), hereinafter referred to as the said Ordinance, in section 2, after clause (i), the following new clause shall be inserted, namely:—

"(ii)   'Pro-Chancellor' means the Pro-Chancellor of the University;."

Amendment of section 3 of N W F P Ord of I 1981	3.         In the said Ordinance, in section 3, in sub-section (2), in clause (i), between the word "Chancellor" and the word "and", the comma and the words "the Pro-Chancellor" shall be inserted.
Amendment of section 7 of N W F P Ord of I 1981	4.         In the said Ordinance, in section 7, after clause (i) the following new clause shall be inserted, namely:—

“(a)   the Pro-Chancellor;".

Insertion of new section 9A to N W F P Ord I of 1981

5.         In the said Ordinance, after section 9, the following new section shall be inserted, namely:—

9A (1) The Minister for Agriculture of the Government of the North-West Frontier Province shall be the Pro-Chancellor of the University, ex-officio.
(2) The Pro-Chancellor shall perform, such duties and functions and exercise such powers as may be assigned and delegated to him by the Chancellor.".

Repeal

6.         The North-West Frontier Province Agricultural University (Amendment) Ordinance, 1987 (N.-W. F. P. Ordinance No. II of 1987) is hereby repealed.
